Kia is giving away a free Apple Watch with the purchase of an EV6 electric vehicle.
According to CNET, Kia has released new details about its upcoming 2022 EV6 First Edition electric vehicle. First Edition customers will also receive a complimentary Apple Watch, as a bonus. According to Kia, they specifically chose the Apple Watch because it will allow customers to use the Kia Connect suite of services that comes standard with the car.
Apple Watch owners can get a home charger or a credit to the charging network as a welcome gift from Kia.
If you've got an Apple Watch already, don't worry. Kia's other special gifts include an at-home charger or a credit for charging the EV6 at a national charging network. With a $100 refundable deposit on the EV6 First Edition, the choice is yours. The limited-edition EV includes all of the equipment available in the EV6 range and some upgrades. The vehicles are outfitted with an augmented reality head-up display, remote Smart Park functionality, and other features. Buyers will also have the option of selecting one of three exclusive color combinations to commemorate the First Edition. There are three colors to choose from: Urban Yellow with a black interior, Glacier White with dark green seating, and Steel Gray Matte with a black interior.
Kia claims that the first EV6 vehicles will be delivered in the United States in the first quarter of 2022. Kia installs a 77.4 kilowatt-hour battery in the car with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup regardless of the combination. We don't have range estimates yet, but don't expect this car to go more than 300 miles. Reservations will open on June 3, and Kia expects to deliver the first EV6 First Edition models in the United States in the first quarter of 2022.
The CNET report does not specify which model of Apple Watch customers will receive. Regardless, you shouldn't buy a car just to get a free Apple Watch.
